🇮🇹 Martedì scorso la nostra socia e Tesoriera Manuela Indaco ha partecipato come relatrice alla 3ª edizione della Blue Economy Summer School di Ragusa, patrocinata dalla Commissione Europea nell’ambito dell’European Maritime Day. Nel suo intervento Manuela ha condiviso la propria esperienza professionale come doganalista, approfondendo le trasformazioni legate alla sostenibilità e, in particolare, al CBAM – Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism. Un’occasione anche per presentare WISTA, la sua missione e il suo impegno nel promuovere la presenza e la crescita delle donne nel settore marittimo e logistico. Manuela shared her professional experience as a customs specialist, focusing on the changes driven by sustainability and, in particular, the CBAM – Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism. It was also an opportunity to introduce WISTA, its mission and its commitment to supporting women’s participation and professional growth across the maritime and logistics sectors. 🇮🇹 La nostra socia Valentina Gigante ha partecipato alla 2nd Northern European Crewing Conference, intervenendo nel panel “The Human Element: Mental Health, High Performance and the AI Revolution in Crew Sourcing”. Un confronto su temi sempre più centrali per il futuro dello shipping: salute mentale, performance, cultura organizzativa, leadership e intelligenza artificiale, elementi strettamente connessi in un settore in profonda trasformazione. Valentina ha portato nel dibattito la sua esperienza di psicologa di bordo, mettendo in relazione ricerca e competenze professionali con la realtà quotidiana del lavoro a bordo. 🇮🇹 In occasione del lancio della Italy Branch del Nautical Institute, svoltosi lo scorso 19 giugno presso l'Accademia Marittima Meridionale di Sant'Agnello, istituzioni, industria e mondo della formazione si sono confrontati sulle sfide della transizione energetica e sul futuro delle competenze nel settore marittimo. Per WISTA Italy hanno partecipato le nostre socie Ivana Melillo, Energy Efficiency Director di GNV, in qualità di relatrice, e Felicia Della Peruta, Lloyd's Register, nel ruolo di Chair. Il confronto ha evidenziato come la decarbonizzazione richieda non solo innovazione tecnologica e adeguamenti normativi, ma anche un forte investimento nella formazione e nello sviluppo delle competenze delle nuove generazioni. Representing WISTA Italy were our members Ivana Melillo, Energy Efficiency Director at GNV, as a speaker, and Felicia Della Peruta, Lloyd's Register, who chaired the session. The discussions highlighted that achieving decarbonisation requires not only technological innovation and regulatory adaptation, but also a strong commitment to education and skills development for the next generation of maritime professionals. Nel corso del suo intervento ha proposto la costituzione di WISTA Vietnam, con l'obiettivo di ampliare la presenza di WISTA International e promuovere una maggiore rappresentanza femminile nel settore marittimo e logistico. 🇮🇹 Oggi WISTA Italy è stata invitata a presentare la propria attività nell’ambito dell’Assemblea Parlamentare del Mediterraneo, in una riunione online ospitata dal Senato della Repubblica alla presenza di rappresentanti di numerosi Paesi dell’area mediterranea. Following the opening remarks by Senator Simona Petrucci, Chair of the Women's Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union for the Mediterranean (AP-UfM), our Vice President Gabriella Reccia, together with members Caterina Cerrini and Elena Piga, presented WISTA Italy’s mission and key initiatives, including the Blue Economy Observatory, educational outreach activities in schools, and networking as a tool to encourage women's participation in the maritime sector.
