🇮🇹 Si è concluso un intenso e bellissimo weekend veneziano in occasione della nostra Assemblea Annuale, ospitata nel Circolo Ufficiali dell’Arsenale Militare di Venezia. Dopo l’assemblea, ci siamo ritrovate per la cena degli auguri, alla quale hanno partecipato socie, ospiti e rappresentanti istituzionali del territorio e del settore marittimo. Il giorno seguente abbiamo visitato l’Arsenale guidate dall’Ammiraglio Patrese, pranzato al Circolo Sottufficiali e concluso la giornata con un momento culturale al Teatro Goldoni. Un grazie speciale alle socie veneziane Francesca Cibin e Claudia Marcolin per la perfetta organizzazione di queste due splendide giornate. Un grazie a tutte le socie: la vostra partecipazione continua a rendere WISTA un’associazione speciale e in continua crescita. #WISTAItaly #professionistedelmare 🇬🇧 We have just wrapped up a wonderful and inspiring weekend in Venice for our Annual Assembly, hosted at the Officers’ Club of the Venice Military Arsenal. After the assembly, we gathered for our holiday dinner, joined by members, guests, and institutional representatives from the region and the maritime sector. The following day included a guided tour of the Arsenal with Admiral Patrese, lunch at the NCO Club, and a cultural evening at the Goldoni Theatre. A special thank-you to our Venice members Francesca Cibin and Claudia Marcolin for flawlessly organizing these two memorable days. 🇮🇹 WISTA Italy al Festival Orientamenti di Genova Il format “Donne sul Ponte di Comando – La Blue Economy” di Regione Liguria è approdato al Festival Orientamenti, dove le nostre socie hanno incontrato studentesse e studenti insieme all’Assessore alle Pari Opportunità Simona Ferro. Un appuntamento dedicato a mostrare alle nuove generazioni le opportunità professionali dell’economia del mare e il valore della leadership femminile nel settore. Durante l’incontro sono stati condivisi anche alcuni dati del Women in Maritime Survey 2024, che confermano quanto sia ancora necessario lavorare su inclusione, formazione e superamento degli stereotipi. Un grazie a tutte le professioniste che hanno portato la loro esperienza e ispirato i talenti di domani. #WISTAItaly #professionistedelmare 🇬🇧 WISTA Italy at the Orientamenti Festival in Genoa Yesterday, the “Women on the Bridge – The Blue Economy” initiative by Regione Liguria took the stage at the Orientamenti Festival, where our members met students together with Regional Councillor for Equal Opportunities Simona Ferro. The session aimed to inspire young people—especially young women—to explore the many career opportunities offered by the maritime and blue economy sectors. Key insights from the Women in Maritime Survey 2024 were also shared, highlighting the ongoing need for inclusion, training and the dismantling of gender stereotypes in the industry. We are proud to share the contribution of our member Hanan Kaffoura, who participated as a speaker in Session 2 – Decarbonization and Climate Change at the World Maritime Day Parallel Event, held in Dubai from 30 September to 1 October 2025. The event, organized by the UAE Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure (MOEI) in collaboration with the International Maritime Organization (IMO), focused on the theme “Our ocean, our obligation, our opportunity.” During her intervention, Hanan highlighted: ⚓️ the fundamental role of ports in the green transition, 💻 the importance of digital innovation, 🌱 the challenges and solutions of this transformation, 👩‍🦱 the essential contribution of women in maritime, 👩‍🎓 and the crucial role of young talents for the future of our industry. Our President Costanza Musso was recently interviewed by Il Giornale della Logistica. Speaking about WISTA, she highlighted a key message: “I believe it is important to break down certain communication barriers in the sector, open dialogue and thus create new opportunities. WISTA Italy, which I have represented since 2022, was born precisely from the female approach to networking and from bringing our perspective into the industry.” Founded in London in the 1970s and established in Italy in 1994, WISTA was not created in opposition to the traditional vision, but to provide support and contribute with a different, inclusive and collaborative approach.
